Who we are
Dr. Ana Maria Wilson began violin studies at age three through the Suzuki Method. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Music in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy, and a Professional Studies Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She earned dual degrees in international studies and violin performance from Bradley University, graduating cum laude. In 2003, she studied at the International Suzuki Academy in Japan with Koji Toyoda.
Ana Maria has participated in music festivals across Canada, Italy, and the U.S., including Aria, Musicorda, Chautauqua, Texas Music Festival, Encore, and Zephyr. Her violin teachers include Rossitza Jekova Goza, Gary Kosloski, Felicia Moye, Stephen Rose, and Marcia Henry Liebenow, while she studied viola with Evan Wilson, Joanna Mendoza, Matthew Dane, and Marcia Henry Liebenow.
As a violinist and violist, Ana Maria has performed with the Peoria Bach Festival, Opera Illinois Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Tulsa Symphony, Fort Smith Symphony, Norman Philharmonic, the MacArthur String Quartet, and the Norman String Quartet.
Ana Maria remains dedicated to performance and education, inspiring the next generation of musicians through her teaching and artistry.
